In this Assessment, you will create a narrated PowerPoint presentation that outlines the various components of a Total Rewards Plan based on a completed needs assessment as outlined below. Your PowerPoint should be concise and to the point, just as it would be when presenting to a corporate CEO for consideration. It is important to justify your recommendations and be mindful of the budget considerations. Are there different types of Total Reward Strategies for different types of organizations (i.e., financial companies, manufacturing, consulting, retail)?
Part 2: Steps to building a Total Rewards Program
This section will consist of a 15-minute presentation with key points illustrated and examples provided in 8 – 10 slides. Be sure to address the points below.
Outline a completed Needs Assessment (high level).
Display a visual graphic of your Total Rewards Plan based on the completed needs assessment (must be your own design and not copied from the internet). Be sure to include speaker notes for this page that provide details.
Outline each step in your proposed Total Rewards Plan. Be sure to include the following:
List the plan details by category on your slide(s) and explain and/or justify each recommendation during the narration of your PowerPoint.
Example: Answers might include why you selected a particular strategy, the benefits it brings to a company, financial implications of using that strategy or tool, and other topics pertinent to proving why your plan will work. Justify why the CEO and organization should implement your plan.
List all budgetary considerations.
Example: What are three general budgetary considerations of adding discretionary elements to the Total Rewards program? You would address this question in your presentation, so the CEO knows what to consider before implementing the plan.
Outline the steps to implement your plan to the entire organization
Describe the link between your Total Rewards plan and the organization’s corporate social responsibility.
Part 3: Communicating a Total Rewards Plan
This section will consist of a 10-minute presentation with key points illustrated and examples provided in 6 – 8 slides. Be sure to address the points below.
Based on your experience developing a Total Rewards Plan for this competency, what advice would you give HR professionals when undertaking such a task.
Example: What guiding principles should they be aware of? How much time should they allot for such an endeavor? What resources will they need to accomplish this?
Outline a communication strategy, to all levels of the organization, for your Total Rewards Plan. Be sure to include at least 1 slide on each of the following:

Mid-Management
Supervisors/Front-line Management/Team Leaders
