The resources for this paper are your class textbooks: The World of Children by Cook and Cook and The Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards Birth to Kindergarten (2017).
This project is to be written in story form. You will be writing this story in in first person (I or we) and it may be totally fiction or be a true account of your own child. It may also be a mixture of your personal account and fiction if you child has not yet reached the age of five. If you are a male you may write in second person (she) to describe parts of this story such as the pregnancy and birth. You will plan, conceive, name (etc.) and raise a child through their first 5 years of development or up to the fifth birthday. You must:
1. Discuss and explain what the concerns are at each stage of development. Do not forget to include the developmental period prior to the birth.
2. Describe and discuss all the characteristics of each stage.
3. Discuss problems you see or expect at each stage and how will you handle them.
4. Explore different theoretical viewpoints from your text book throughout the process.
5. Include your values, morals, religious beliefs, also the possible effects of occupation, education goals, siblings, divorce, remarriage, etc. in your discussion.
Below is the project outline you must use to organize your work. Please note the age spans for this required section of your paper.
* Birth thru 12 mo. – labor and delivery and first 12 months of life of the baby (Include physical, emotional and cognitive information for both mother and child)
* 13 thru 24 months (1 yr. old – Include physical, emotional and cognitive information)
* 25 thru 36 months (2 yr. old – Include physical, emotional and cognitive information)
Requirements for Class Project
