Review your textbook for more information on this assignment. You will find both the assignment explanation and grading rubric at the end of the persuasive speech chapter. These two forms are pull-out links you can click on for convenience.
Please make sure you upload your outline, bibliography, PPT and the actual link to your ZOOM recording of the speech here. Forgetting to upload an outline will result in point deductions. All items must be submitted by the deadline or points will be deducted.
Do not e-mail outlines or PPT presentations. There are so many students in the online environment that it creates confusion on my end if all documents are not submitted here.
The speech should be 5-7 minutes in length. (minus 3 points for every 15 seconds over/under the time limit).

Encyclopedias, dictionaries, Wikipedia, CDROMs and other general reference materials may not be used.
Only two sources may come from the Internet. At least one of the sources must carry a publication date within the last 12 months. One copy of your preparation outline (typed) must be submitted. If you fail to submit an outline at all then 20 points will be deducted from your speech grade. Please note that all outlines become part of the Department of Communication and Journalism’s speech files.

Remember that persuasion usually occurs in small increments. You may not get everyone to commit themselves to your cause, but you might be able to convince them to take a smaller step toward your ultimate goal.
