1. Research and
Planning.

Identify a problem of need you have
identified or observed in the community – either on campus or in the local
community (on Long Island).

Plan a project that will meet the need or
address the problem you have identified.
·
Submit
your project into D2L (submit into “Assignment” section
for submission). Do not email me your
submission.
·
Research can include reading articles
about the problem in the local newspaper, reading articles about how this
problem has been addressed in other areas, reading pamphlets or fact sheets
provided by the organization, interviewing community or college leaders or
those served by the organization to identify needs, analyze issues, and suggest
possible solutions, and finding out about organizations in the area that may
help you address the problem. Include
all printed sources (either attach the articles or links to the articles).

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to be
uploaded into D2L Brightspace for grading.
·
A
minimum of 8 slides are required.
·
Include a works cited page (APA
style). The works cited page must be
beyond the minimum of 8 slides.
·
Grammar, spelling, formatting, and
punctuation of the material in your Powerpoint are all part of the grade.
·
Include Google
Images. Images are not to take up an entire
slide. Text must be included with any
Images. You may use the textbook and other publications. (Remember to cite your
sources in the bibliography)
You must include at least one YouTube
video.
(Remember to cite your video in the bibliography). Please make sure that I can open your
video. (Use a video link).
Do not use
Wikipedia as a source.
Your opinion
surrounding the topic must be an educated one. Please support your view with evidence
from your research.
