This project was originally assigned as a group speech however it is now individual. Please disregard the group references as this is just one person doing this speech. This must be equivalent to 5-7 minutes when talking. I am attatching the textbook and i would like this to be about something from chapter 15.

Apply small group communication skills including: problem solving, group roles, leadership styles, and cohesiveness.
Identify and relate group communication skills in the quiz.

Apply group skills by using a collaborative document to organize and construct an outline for the Informative Group Presentation.
Apply group skills by using available technology and resources to deliver the Informative Group Presentation as a recorded group video with a visual aid.
Topic Selection:
The group must decide the topic for the presentation based on some concept or theory from any of the textbook chapters. Hint: any bold words or concepts in the chapters are fair game.
The group must communicate in the group discussion portal and come to an agreement of which concept or theory from a chapter/section the group will teach to the class. There should be a relevant example of how that concept applies to something in our every day lives (our relationships, jobs, family, school, society, etc). You might see the theory or concept in pop culture as well (examples in movies, t.v. shows, music videos, books…even Twitter!).
This assignment demonstrates, often dramatically, the relevance of course material to the everyday lives of individuals in society through the lens of Communication Studies.
Format/Organization: This speech will be organized in a topical format to include three main points: The definition of the assigned concept, the group’s explanation of the concept and lastly stating the application of the concept in a visual or specific example (Define, Explain, & Apply).
Define: Tell us what the textbook and research says about the concept.
Explain: Use your own words, your own interpretation and understanding and personal examples to help us understand the concept. Meaning, teaching it to the class in a way thats meaningful for you.
Apply: Find a creative and innovative example of the concept. Examples may include a news story, painting, article, photograph, short-video clip or sculpture. Be sure at the end of the concept you bring it back to how it applies to and explains the concept you have chosen from the chapter.
Research:
You will be required to incorporate a minimum of three credible sources. In addition to using our textbook as a reference for one source, you should find the remainder of your resources through the school library, electronic media, interviews, and/or the internet.

Full-Sentence Outline with Reference List: You will be tasked with preparing a group working outline for the presentation in the “Collaborations” section of your group portal. There will be a Google Doc linked there that is shared will everyone in the group, including the instructor.
It must be typed, full-sentence, and must use a topical organizational pattern. The outline must be formatted correctly using APA style for in-text citations and the Reference List with a minimum of three (3) sources cited on both the outline and reference list.
Sample Outline: See Sample Outline Here!Links to an external site.
The sample outline should show you the correct formatting and style, but go here for a refresher on APA styleLinks to an external site..
Group Delivery: You will be responsible for divvying up content and speaking time as well as assigning group roles to achieve your shared purpose. You will need to use verbal and nonverbal skills to present the speech audibly, visually, and coherently. Eye contact with the audience, projection, articulation, and speed of the voice, natural movements, formal tone, and time limit will all be assessed based on frequency and punctuality. Verbally cite all 3 sources in your speech as you use the information (it doesn’t matter who cites the sources as long as 3 are cited). You must record different segments of the speech and merge them together using the same visual aid. There are all types of software that can put video segments together. Make sure your group does this and submits one edited video of the presentation into Studio rather than 3 different presentation videos into Studio.
Here’s what a final project might look like…
Visual: You will be tasked with using supporting visual material that is clear and relevant to the presentation. This can be presentation software like Power Point, Google Slides, Prezi, and Keynote, or it can be printed media as well. Please see the tutorial below on how to accomplish using a visual aid with the Canvas Studio feature.
Speech Length: The speech presentation should have a reasonable window of time in which it must be completed, but the presentation window must be anywhere within the 5-7 minutes range for the whole presentation.
To complete the Assignment, you will need to submit your:
1. Full Group Video
3. Visual Aid file
to this assignment portal. There will be a time stamp, and you can stack multiple files by uploading them one-at-a-time.
