THIS IS AN ESSAY PLUS POWERPOINT PRESENTATION.
Topic is the Israel/Palestine conflict. Be sure to focus on the religious contexts of the issues. You will submit a PowerPoint Presentation accompanied by a written current event report (1200-1400 words). The point of the assignment is to become aware of global realities of how religion functions in various contexts.
Though the issue may have roots going further back, you should only focus on the most recent 20 years of the issue.
Part of this assignment should be done accessing some form of social media. There are advocacy groups, governmental agencies, and of course people who are in these areas that are on X [Twitter], Threads, Instagram, Facebook, etc. X/Twitter or Threads are probably better for quick bursts of “information.” If you don’t have an X/Twitter or Threads account, you will need access to them, and in order to communicate with people, you will need an account. You will need to have at least two screen shots on your Powerpoint presentation from X/Twitter, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, or other social media sites.
For PowerPoint Presentation: It will accompany and enhance your Written Report and must be submitted through the Canvas site. For maximum score, include at least two screen shots from X/Twitter, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, or other social media sites. This project must be submitted as a pdf or pptx file only. Any assignment not submitted as a pdf or pptx file will be returned to the student with a 0% grade.
For Written Report: You also will submit a written report on the assignment (1200-1400 words)
Style for Written Report— typed, double-spaced Times New Roman 12 pt font. Must include heading with name, date, and course name (heading must be single spaced). Include page numbers, but do not include your name in the header. Do not include a separate title page. Word Count MUST be on the paper. This project must be submitted as a pdf file. Any assignment not submitted as a pdf file will be returned to the student with a 0% grade. Citation can be parenthetical (Prothero, page no.) but you need to keep that style throughout the paper. You may use footnotes/endnotes also, but if so, you must use Chicago Manual of Style citation format throughout the paper. You must cite all outside sources properly according to either Chicago Manual of Style, APA, or MLA.
