1. What practice area are you interested in and why?I am particularly interested in starting my nursing career in the tele/med surg unit as it serves as a foundational area where I can develop essential clinical skills and hone my ability to manage a diverse range of patient conditions. This environment will allow me to build a solid understanding of acute care principles, patient assessment, and the implementation of care plans under varying levels of acuity. My goal is to leverage this experience to progress towards becoming an ICU nurse. ICU nursing fascinates me due to its critical nature and the opportunity it provides to apply advanced interventions and monitoring techniques. I am committed to continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to provide the highest level of care to critically ill patients, ensuring they receive the specialized attention and support they need during challenging health crises.
2. Why did you decide to become an RN?
My decision to pursue a career as an RN was deeply influenced by a personal experience close to my heart. Several years ago, my cousin suffered a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Witnessing his journey through rehabilitation ignited a profound desire within me to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals facing health challenges.
