Identify 3 local* agencies that would approach this client from the perspective of 3 different areas we focused on this semester such as intellectual/developmental disabilities, alcohol & drug abuse, child/adolescent/family treatment, sexuality, depression/suicide/loss & grief. [*local is defined by a location within a 15 mile radius of the Lowell and/or Bedford campuses]
If you worked at the agencies identified, what aspects would you focus on in this case? Remember, they are looking at the case from their own perspective which differs from the other 2, etc. So a medical facility would be looking at this differently than a tutoring center, right? Clearly support your referral and provide the types of information/assitance you would wish to obtain with this identified referral that you could not from the 3 agencies you identified. How can you, the worker, assist in being actively involved with this client/family?
