This assignment will allow you to put into practice the skills you learned in ADMG 302: Financial Analysis class. However, understanding that this is not a financial literary class, you have the option to chose which assignment option you would like to complete.  Please select ONE assignment to complete.

1. (15 points) Weighted Scoring Model. There are two parts of this first question: 1) Let’s consider a situation in which a graduating senior has to decide if he wants to go to graduate school or take a job. The four major factors are employment opportunities, intellectual satisfaction, earning potential, and growth potential. See below the table of the criteria, fill in the weights and scores for each alternative, and 2) make your reasonable recommendation using critical application of your results from the Weighted Score Model you created. (see chapter 4, beginning on page 152 for instructions)

2. Financial Analysis. Perform a financial analysis for a project as specified in the following. Assume the projected costs and benefits for this project are spread over four years as follows: Estimated costs are $200,000 in year 0 and $30,000 each year in years 1, 2, and 3. Estimated benefits are $0 in year 0 and $100,000 each year in years 1, 2, and 3. Assume you have a discount rate of 9%. Create a spreadsheet (or use the financials template provided below) to calculate and clearly display the NPV, ROI, and year in which payback occurs. In addition, write a paragraph explaining whether you would recommend or not investing in this project, based on your financial analysis.
Hint: You can make use of the provided ” Financial Analysis_Template ” to accomplish question 2. Be sure you use all three “sheets” at the bottom!

SUBMISSION:  You will be submitting TWO documents for this option. 1) MEMO (using proper formatting).
1. You memo should include two section headings:
Weighted score model (and reasoning behind your decision
Financial Analysis (and a paragraph [or more] explaining if you would invest in the project analyzed above.
2. You will also be submitting an excel file for your financial analysis, including each of the completed sheets which can be found within the template above.
OPTION 2: Research-Current Project, Process Groups, SWOT Analysis
Conduct research to find a current project (within the last year). In your first section heading, please give a brief summary of the project. Remember to use your own words.
In MEMO format, map the five process groups to EACH of the PM knowledge areas. Use Table 3-1 on pages 85-86 as your template. Remember to be specific and include references/details from your research. Please include a “Works Cited” at the end of the memo.
Once you have mapped the 5 progress groups, conduct a detailed SWOT analysis on the project you selected above, noting at least 4 bullet points for each “letter. There is an example of this on page 142 of the textbook.
The fourth section header should be your analysis based on step 2 and your SWOT analysis…what recommendations should you make to the PM? Any areas missing? Need more information?
Your memo should be written in proper memo format and should contain four section headings:

SWOT
Project Recommendations
