This assignment assesses the following course outcome:
MT340-1: Examine the strengths and weaknesses of a team in various situations.
Write a persuasive essay that examines the situations in which a small group/team would be the best choice for solving a problem in an organization. In what situations would an individual be the best choice? How does the use of technology affect your answer? What does it mean to be a participant observer on a team?
Checklist:
Analyze and describe at least three types of problems where the strengths of a team would make them most suitable to be solved by a team.
Analyze and describe at least three types of problems where a team’s weaknesses would make them most suitable to be solved by an individual.
Discuss at least three factors that affect problem-solving groups, including:
Communication
Technology and social presence
Purpose of the problem-solving group
Analyze and describe (1) the role of a participant as a participant observer, (2) the role of the observer as a participant observer, and (3) the tasks that they perform in each role.
Work should demonstrate:
The synthesis of concepts, research, and experience
Problem-solving abilities
Business decision-making abilities
Format and Writing Instructions:
Write your persuasive essay in a clear and articulate manner using Standard English.
Ensure it is well-organized, logical, and unified and that your work is original and insightful.
Use the current edition APA formatting and citation style for your paper.
Your paper must be double-spaced and include at least 3 pages (minimum 800 words) of content and the title and reference page.
You are required to have at least three references, one of which must be the textbook, and two quality sources from the Purdue Global Library. Remember that APA uses both in-text citations and a reference list with hanging indents (both are required).
