There is 2 seperate parts to this assignment. The first being the outline the second being the essay paper. Below will be attchments to the film list that you can choose from and also the pictures of APA format for the outline and essay paper that my professor will be looking for. please pay attention to the title of the pictures.
Book for this course: Title: Psychology, Author: Spielman, R., Jenkins, W., & Lovett, M., Publisher: Openstax, Edition: 2nd Edition, ISBN: 978-1-951693-23-7
Outline Instruction:
View film. Strongly recommend watching it twice.
After reviewing your textbook and notes, identify THREE different psychological concepts that appear to be happening in the events or individuals depicted in the film (e.g., psychoanalysis, neurotransmitters, classical conditioning, ethics, obsessive-compulsive disorder, therapies, cognitive dissonance, etc.).
Then, identify THREE different film scenes that depict the three psychological concepts that you identified.
Write 2-3-page outline including the following:
Title of film
Brief summary of film (minimum 4-6 sentences)
Scene #1:
Description of scene (minimum 4-5 sentences).
Definition of psychological concept that is being portrayed in scene (minimum 3-4 sentences). You do NOT need to explain how the concept is portrayed in the scene. SIMPLY, DEFINE the psychological concept. You can use your textbook (include reference) and/or notes for definition of concept.
Scene #2:
Description of scene (minimum 4-5 sentences).
Definition of psychological concept that is being portrayed in scene (minimum 3-4 sentences).
Scene #3:
Description of scene (minimum 4-5 sentences).
Definition of psychological concept that is being portrayed in scene (minimum 3-4 sentences).
You may use your textbook and/or notes at this time for the definition of the concept. Make sure to use APA style for reference citations.
Film Analysis Paper Instruction:
Film Analysis Paper
This paper is a written analysis of how the film and particular scene selections depict the three psychological concepts you identified in the Outline. For each concept, you must:
Describe the relevant scene (recommend that you use the description from your Outline as a starting point; you may need to add more info, like quotes from scene, if necessary).
Define in detail the psychological concept you believe is relevant. Your job here is to demonstrate that you understand the concept or theory, and that you can describe it in your own words initially. Then, you need to use ONE library resource (e.g., book, journal, newspaper) to fully explain/define the concept. You may use your textbook for additional resources BUT IT CANNOT COUNT AS YOUR LIBRARY RESOURCE. I need you to show me that you have a good understanding of the concept. It is best if you are specific about the concepts you discuss. For example, don’t just write that your scene illustrates classical conditioning. Instead, explain what specific aspect of classical conditioning that your scene illustrates.
Elaborate/explain on how the selected scene illustrates the psychological concept you have identified. You can also discuss how a scene might fail to follow predictions derived from the psychological concept or theory. Where possible, make reference to how your scene maps onto specific research findings (for example, describe how the scene is similar to or different from relevant experiments you’ve read or heard about). It is very important that you do more than simply say something like “this scene illustrates classical conditioning.” You must be specific on precisely how and in what form the scene illustrates classical conditioning, or how it fails to support what you learned about classical conditioning in class. This is a great area to discuss the accuracy of the portrayal of the psychological concept.
Remember, you must identify THREE (3) DIFFERENT PSYCHOLOGICAL CONCEPTS that are relevant to your film. Your Film Analysis Paper should be succinct and well-written (6-8 pages); page count does NOT include title page and reference page. Include a descriptive and engaging Introduction to orient the reader, as well as an integrated Discussion to tie things together. Papers must be typed and double spaced with correct spelling, complete sentences, and proper punctuation. Your paper must have a title page and be formatted in APA style; abstract is not needed for this project. See examples posted on Canvas. Submit online via Canvas by Sunday, Week 15.
