Your paper should answer the following questions: How does culture influence communication? How does communication influence culture? For this portion you can discuss culture in general or you may discuss this within the framework of your chosen culture.
You will be answering these questions generally, and then focusing on your specific culture to provide additional support for your answers.
You must include at least five (5) academic sources to support your work. These sources should be reputable, academically appropriate sources. For example, Wikipedia and Buzzfeed are not appropriate sources.
In addition to your five sources, you will need to include at least five (5) clearly identifiable concepts from the chapters we have covered so far. This should be pretty easyto accomplish given the amount of information that we have covered thus far, bold them in your paper.
I. PAPER (100 POINTS)
a. Minimum length: five pages, double-spaced. Use 12 point Times New Roman font. Five pages means five full pages (one sentence on a fifth page does not count as a fifth page). You must include at least five (5) external sources to support your research. Do not forget your works cited page.

i. Introduction
1. This section introduces your topic and your intentions for your paper. Include an attention-getter, a thesis statement, and an indication of, according to your research, what kind of impact culture has on communication.
ii. Literature Review
1. This section of your paper should establish previous research on your topic as well as any definitions that are relevant to you paper and likely unknown to your audience.
2. You must have at least three external, academic sources in this section. You may use your textbook as a source (this will count as one source).
3. This is where you will incorporate five (5) concepts from the chapters we have covered so far. You may choose any five (5) concepts (theories or interpersonal terms found in the text) from any chapter.
iii. Research/Data Analysis
1. This section of your paper will focus specifically on the culture you have selected.
2. How is this country categorized based on the seven (7) qualifications we learned about in Chapter 5? These are found in chapter 5 under “Cultural Influences on Communication”
3. How do these categorizations affect daily life?
4. How does this country compare to the United States?
iv. Conclusion
1. In this section, you will wrap up your paper and summarize your final thoughts. What did you learn from this paper? How do your discoveries relate to current society?
2. Make sure to conclude your paper in a powerful way. Develop a clear ending that is consistent with the rest of your paper.
