The topic:
1. The topic I am interested in choosing for my final project in the format of a traditional literature review is the Social Information Processing Theory and specifically focusing on romantic relationships. This topic sounds interesting to me because I would like to learn more about how people interpret/process different situations or conversations.( i.e. getting thrown into a crowd of people and if someone would take that as an accident or as hostile.) The focus on romantic relationships brings up the question “How (or why) does social information processing contribute to the failure of romantic relationships”

A focus on a single, significant inquiry that has importance to the course matter in this class. This should be phrased as a research question.
Use of at least 5-7 appropriate academic sources or documents from Communication journals. This is not a simple Google search or a random article published by an organization. your sources need to be from communication journals and you can only use one book.
Appropriate citation of all materials used (articles, documents, the course textbook, class notes and lectures, etc.) using APA formatting for both in-text citations and the reference section of the project.
A demonstration of significant academic labor, equating to approximately 8-10 pages of text or 1,400-2,000 words of oral presentation. The demonstrated labor can be negotiated for projects outside of the traditional formats.

January 26 –Topic Selection and Approval
February 2 – Journal article #1 due (also called annotated bibliography)
February 16 – Journal article #2 due
March 22 – Journal article #3 due
April 12 – Journal article #4 due
April 28 – Final project (Article 5 and any additional articles will be included in the project, but will not have a specific, individual due date)
Assignments will be posted to correlate with each due date, but they all work towards and contribute to your final project.
