The Signature Assignment includes two parts.

Part 1
Consider what you have learned about clinical supervision in psychology, and then create and explain the following (be sure to justify your responses with relationship to established research):

Create a scenario of clinical supervision between a supervisor and supervisee. Be sure to consider experience level, training, setting, unique personal and professional factors, and describe the use of clinical supervision, factors in deciding which approach(es) may be used, and why (as appropriate to the setting and other variables reviewed in the course that determines which approach and best practice are used).
Describe the technical competencies necessary for clinical supervision and how to use them in the scenario. Consider your own role as a supervisee and supervisor and how these competencies play a role.
Identify the potential personal factors, transference, and how countertransference may influence the clinical supervision relationship. Be specific with examples of how such factors and situations may influence the relationship (examples of where they may occur and how so).
Examine the role of multiculturalism and diversity in the clinical supervision relationship. Include at least two to three examples in this discussion.
Analyze any ethical issues, including the process of risk management and a strategy you would implement, and why.
Part 2
Provide a reflection of your experiences. First person perspective is acceptable. In the reflection, begin by considering your learning experiences for the past 8 weeks of this course, and then address the following:

Describe your experiences of engaging the activities and material for Weeks 1-8.
What was new information to you?
What was familiar?
What did you enjoy the most and why (if at all)?
What did you enjoy the least and why (if at all)?
Determine what preconceived notions you have about clinical supervision, and how your experiences over these weeks have supported or conflicted with them.
Evaluate a plan for how you intend to utilize and promote clinical supervision in psychology. In your evaluation, address how, as a supervisee and as a supervisor, you will continue to develop your role in psychology and with consideration of clinical practice and supervision.
Length: 8-10 pages for Part 1, 3-5 pages for Part 2; 11-15 pages total, not including title and reference pages

References: Support your assignment with at least five peer-reviewed articles. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles and course text(s) may be included.

Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University′s Academic Integrity Policy.
