The purpose of this assignment is to implement a literacy-based professional development/action plan to incorporate within your classroom, school, or district—- depending on your current role. You will identify at least three areas for potential growth in your school community/classroom/district, then list actions steps that contain strategies you plan to consistently implement in your classroom to help create a balanced literacy environment.
As you consider your targeted areas for growth, use the Educator Preparation Program Literacy Standards for elementary, middle/secondary/instructional leader programs located in Educator Preparation Policy 5.504, beginning on page 36. (see link below) Special attention should also be given to models supported in your course texts. Include three research references to support your Literacy PDP. ( your text should provide most of these, but you may use other sources)
Step 1: You may choose to complete a PowerPoint presentation or Prezi (limit 8 slides) to demonstrate your new plan of action for your class/school community. It will include:
