The purpose of this assignment is to create a 1,000-word essay to evaluate information received
from ChatGPT. Assignment 1 was about a firm. Assignment 2 is about two important issues in
modern business. In turn, it highlights aspects of ChatGPT output that the first assignment did not.
Type the following prompts into ChatGPT in order:
• “Explain corporate governance in the U.S.”
• “Name five companies that are often recognized for strong corporate governance.”
• “Name five companies that often engage in sociopolitical activism.”
• “How has such activism influenced the financial performance of these companies?”
o You may get a broad overview of how such activism influences performance.
o If so, follow up with “I asked about these five companies.”
• “How are socio-political activism and corporate governance related?”
Your response should contain the following:
• An introductory paragraph that explains what the rest of the essay contains.
• Critically evaluate the output you received from each prompt (one paragraph per prompt).
• What overall trends do you notice about the output that ChatGPT prioritizes?
• A conclusion paragraph that explains the types of tasks for which ChatGPT is most useful.
Use ChatGPT-Version 3.5 for this assignment. Be sure to use this version. It is free, other versions
have licensing restrictions, and we want all submitted essays to be comparable.
For each problem, include the output from ChatGPT (use quotation marks if needed), followed by
“(CGPT).” Then, explain (1) why the text is problematic and (2) how it should be improved.
You must use and cite at least five sources (other than ChatGPT) to support your conclusions. Use
footnotes to identify the materials you are taking from other sources. In the footnotes, include
enough information that the reader can easily identify and find the material you are referencing.
The response should conform to the following format:
• 12-point Times New Roman font.
• Include page numbers.
• Double-spaced with standard tabs (about 8 characters) at the start of each new paragraph.
• Standard one-inch margins on all four sides of the page.
• Papers should be submitted on Canvas as Word files.
You are to complete this assignment individually. You are not to collaborate with others. In
addition, we use Turn-It-In to check for plagiarism. The consequences of confirmed plagiarism
