The purpose of the current event presentation is:
For you to apply the material discussed in class to “real life” experiences.
For you to perfect and develop your communication skills.
Find a news article published within twelve (12) months of the due date from a major
newspaper or an official online business source (i.e., The Wall Street Journal, The New
York Times, CNN, etc.)
. Presentations on news articles more then twelve (12) months prior will not be graded unless approved by your instructor prior to beginning the assignment.
b. The chapter topics are broad; please choose a theme and/or topic/subject matter and select a subtopic within your chapter that relates to your chosen current event article.
c. The current event can be about a specific business, person, business process, technology, etc. The article should highlight an issue related to communication that can be discussed within the assigned chapter. BE CREATIVE!!
Create a PowerPoint Presentation
Presentations should be created using PPT and will be conducted in class.
i. Students must dress business casual for presentations and your camera must be on.
Each presenter will be given presentation/host rights during the presentation so please practice using Zoom.
The presentation must be 8-12 minutes long and include PPT slides.
Following the presentation, the student should be prepared to answer related questions from the instructor and class.
The presentation should:
Briefly explain the “key concepts” of the chosen article
Explain how the chosen article relatesto the learning outcomes of the assigned
chapter.
