The Office of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices has received a copy of the documentation regarding your violation of the Student Academic Integrity Policy during the Spring 2024 semester in your ENGL317.001 course. As a result of finding you responsible for this violation, Carrie Grant has assigned a failing grade for the course.
Additionally, as a result of this incident, you are required to complete the following accountability action:
1. Academic Integrity Workshop
Complete by: Friday, May 03, 2024
You are to attend an educational workshop on the topic of academic integrity. This workshop will be held on the date above, from 2:00pm-3:30pm. Please check-in at least 5 minutes before the 2:00pm start time at the front desk in room 2133 of the Administration Building. You must present a photo I.D. when you report for the session and arrive on time in order to be admitted. Please note that failure to attend the Academic Integrity Workshop will result in being reassigned to take an online Academic Integrity Seminar, which has a $100 enrollment fee, instead of the Academic Integrity Workshop. If you do not attend the Academic Integrity Workshop on the date listed above, a hold will be placed on your student account preventing your registration for subsequent semesters or changing a class schedule until the alternative sanction is completed.
As per the Student Academic Integrity Policy, you are not permitted to withdraw from this class unless you are found to be not responsible during the appeal process. If you do withdraw from this class you will be reregistered so that appropriate action can be taken. To ensure that you do not drop this class now or in the future, a hold will be placed on your student account. The hold will appear as AIH on your student account and will only prevent you from dropping courses during the semester in which you had the violation. If you need to drop a different course from that semester, please contact the Office of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices at 410-704-2057.
Please be advised that any subsequent violations of the Student Academic Integrity Policy will result in disciplinary action being taken in addition to any academic penalties that may be imposed on you by faculty. A subsequent violation may also result in sanctions including suspension from Towson University.
If you wish to appeal this decision, you must first appeal to the Chair of the Department. According to the Student Academic Integrity Policy, you have 5 business days after receiving the initial notice from the reporting faculty to appeal. Based on the date of the letter sent by Carrie Grant, your appeal deadline is Friday, April 12, 2024. Please copy *************** at every step of the appeals process.
