The following helps outline the structure of the research paper that is due at the end of the semester.
The paper is to consist of an Introduction, Literature Review, Discussion, and Conclusion section. Below Is further information about each section;
Introduction Section – This will be 2-4 sentences. You will introduce your research statement.
Literature Review Section – This is where you will take the 5-7 research study articles that you found on EBSCO and discuss them. Each article should be summarized in 1-2 paragraphs and should state the name of the study, method used, results found, and conclusion from each study.
Discussion Section – This will be the longest part of the paper (roughly 3-4 pages). The job here is to use the articles reviewed to help either prove your research statement to be significant (true) or non-significant (false).
Conclusion Section – If your research found your statement to be significant (true) then discuss what might you want to research next and also propose a new study to assess what might be next to examine. If your research found your statement to be non-significant (false) then discuss what the other research studies could have done differently. This section should be 1-2 pages in length.
DO NOT include personal stories our use “I” or “You.” DO NOT label sections; let the paper flow. There is no abstract section. Cite every single sentence. Remember, you are not the expert. Therefore, make sure you give credit to the proper people for each claim that you write.
The paper also needs to be in APA format. You can find out how to do APA format from your college library or you can go to Yahoo or Google and type in “APA format”. The first website to come up will be from the Purdue Owl Library. Click on that site or enter this link below and click enter;
