The final project is a targeted application of the lessons learned. Specifically, you will be asked to use the lessons you have found that apply to your life, you will design a simple, targeted message that could easily be used to improve the health and wellbeing of others. First, download the template from Canvas Download First, download the template from Canvasand read all the comments in the margins.
With so many resources available to use, why is personal health still such a challenge?
Your final project will include a paper and a “artifact” or message.
Final Paper: (200 points) Synthesize from your reflections and the reviewed literature
Start by combining excerpts from your three reflections
EXCERPTS ONLY. If your final paper is JUST your three reflective papers, you will receive no credit.
Instead, take related parts of each to put together a unified literature review, tie them together, and DEVELOP them in advocacy of your artifact.
The parts you include should all be strategically used to push towards one final synthesis: your “artifact,” which will be a persuasive message arguing for a certain behavioral, attitudinal, or lifestyle change.
In addition, your synthesis should also justify the form of your “artifact.” (e.g. an aesthetically appealing t-shirt design will start conversations about mental health…)
The paper should probably be between 5-10 pages but should be very targeted.
Use the literature review to strategically justify your “artifact.”
Artifact: (100 points) A behavior, routine, or message and an appropriate channel through which it can be distributed that you (and others) can use to promote health at the individual level and articulate a persuasive argument for adopting this behavior, message, or routine.
The form the artifact will take is up to you, but you must…
Make it distributable or consumable
E.g. a bumper sticker, song, t-shirt design, webcomic, mantra, billboard, pamphlet…
You don’t have to actually make the artifact [t-shirt or whatever], but would include the design.
Have a justification for its form.
Other details: The usual requirements apply. Times New Roman, 12 point font, around 3000 words (don’t exceed 5000), double-spaced is fine. Probably well over 6 sources, even if you just use previous class sources to build your argument.
The document titled “Comm 463 Final Project Template” is a guide for what to include in the paper.
The rest of the documents are included are to be used to complete the paper
