FORMAT –
1¾ to 2 pages of single-spaced 11 point text. For instance, the text on this document you are holding is single-spaced, 11-point text (Calibri). You may very well find this limit a binding constraint, given what you are asked to accomplish in the text. Use the constraint as an impetus to fluff-cutting, repetition-avoiding, eagle-eyed-editing, and confusion-reducing in your writing style. You will need to figure out what you want to say, draft it, and work over it thoroughly a few times to make sure you actually do say it. That is good experience for professional workplace writing.
Use headings and if helpful, subheadings. You should use headings and if needed, subheadings, to organize your text. This helps your reader orient to your points, and helps you focus on clear organization of your text. Some use of bullet points to summarize lists concisely, etc. is acceptable (first introduced in your text, of course, for example, “Key elements of the organizational context for decision making include the following: [bullets]”) but the overall memo is expected to be well-written to a professional standard and in paragraph form.
CONTENT –
an introductory paragraph that “sets the stage” for the process or program you are analyzing,
a thorough text description to accompany your flowchart or logic model; you can use number labels or other method as appropriate to connect your text description to pieces of your flowchart or logic model; can have headings/subheadings
a final reflection paragraph including (1) what you learned about the program or process you didn’t already know when you started as a result of doing this task and (2) explicit connections between your analysis of the process or program and selected concepts from the assigned readings and learning resources in this course (with citations).
The program that you will be evaluating is the Male Leadership Initiative Program (Title 1) at Main Street Academy. I am attaching a copy of the draft logic model that I completed during the semester. The memo should be based off of this. I am also attaching an article that should be used as a reference, especially when discussing the logic model. I will also attach an example that my professor provided for the class.
