When writing the essay you just need to state the scientific name of the plant once and then you can refer to it as just the first word EXAMPLE: Oryza sativa and then referer to this as Oryza only.

The paper should try to outline the following (if applicable):

names? Family? Any thing related to it of which we’ve heard?
Overview of the organism, the cultural/ historical/geographical
connections such as where it originated, how they used it in the
past, how people use it today… History and effect on civilisation or
the effect of civilisation on it
Morphology (anatomy): What does the organism look like?

Cellular and biochemical characteristics of the organism disease
caused /cured. What portion specifically is used? Give chemical
name and structural diagram (picture).
You should provide a enough data supporting your conclusions. You SHOULD use as many pictures as you can to help illustrate
and support or defend your analysis. Using APA style formatting for
your references you will also use as many current relevant scientific
sources as you can to establish a valid analysis. if you are unsure of
how to do this please ask. Think about cells, behaviour, evolution,
ecology and geography, genetics and conservation.
It should be a comprehensive report. It is, after all, equivalent to a 3
month research report! The report should include relevant
background data from peer reviewed references such as journals
and books. you may use the internet as long as it is from a reputable
site. You should reference materials and methods and include a
graphical representation. You should find some logical way of
organizing them so the reader can follow them smoothly. A reference
list would be good Unless you use them in text it is just a list of books
that may or may not have anything to do with the topic
