The measurements are categorized as Academic Performance, Academic Engagement, and Conditions & Climate.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the summative state assessment.

Scenario: You have been asked to lead the teachers in collaboration time at your school. The purpose will be examining the Dashboard and CAASPP data for guiding future goals.
You are excited about this opportunity but also know that a few of the teachers are reluctant to collaborate. There is also the challenge of the meeting time being only an hour long.
Step 1: Select a public school and focus either on English language arts/literacy or mathematics.
Step 2: Write a 500 word email to the teachers. Remind them about the collaboration time. In the note, give 3 reasons why collaboration and self-reflection can benefit teachers and student learning. Support the reasons with research.
Step 3: To get the most out of your time together, prepare a handout for the teachers that has the data on English language arts/literacy or mathematics, including the data on the student groups. Include 5 questions for the teachers to reflect on their own practices as they review the data. The handout needs to be 2 pages and include the data and spacing to respond to the reflection questions. This would be a handout they would bring to the meeting.
