(The biggest rule is to NOT USE AI) The professor is extremly familiar with AI and is very strict about using it. She will automatically give a 0 to those who use AI.
The paper is about Beast In the Boudoir book. The thesis must include and have something to do with class. The thesis I gave her was “Kathleen Kete’s unique perspective brilliantly depicts the diverse animal behavior tales in nineteenth century Paris. She saw these stories as a lament for the various class of society.” However she had stated that the thesis must have an argument and not state what the book is about. She has told me to “make a succinct argument about that in one or two sentences that you can back up throughout the rest of your paper” but the argument must be about class.
Here are also other rules she has written:
1. Use active voice rather than passive voice. Example (active): Fred made a mistake. Example (passive): Mistakes were made. [Who made the mistake??]
Avoid starting your sentences with “it is,” “it was,” “there are,” “there were,” “this is,” “this was,” and “there is.” These are examples of “weak constructions” and they do not aid your writing.
Each paragraph should be like a small essay. Put the main idea in the topic sentence, and then use the rest of the paragraph to support that idea.
Make sure the subject and verb agree. This means you have to identify the subject of the sentence. Sometimes what you think is the subject is not really the subject.
