ASSIGNMENT OUTLINE:
COVER PAGE Student’s NamesClassInstructorSemesterTHE HYPOTHESIS (about 1/4 of a page)This is the statement of the student’s theory regarding the topic including a statement as to the student’s reasoning behind the hypothesis. The Hypothesis should be your initial ideas on the subject before you have researched the topic. This is supposed to demonstrate the scientific method, which involves comparing the hypothesis to the research and then concluding how accurate the hypothesis is and what changes may need to be made to it. Therefore, the hypothesis needs to be roughly 3 or 4 sentences long including a statement of the hypothesis and a justification for it. The hypothesis doesn’t have to be completely correct as long as your conclusion corrects it. INTRODUCTION (about 1 page). Introduce the topic, general context and information, history, and relevance of this topic matter. This portion should be building an empirical and historical account, which lays the groundwork for the topic.THE BODY OF YOUR PAPER (about 2 pages)Students should include both evidence that is consistent with the starting hypothesis and any evidence that contradicts it, viewing this from the standpoint of cause and effect. CONCLUSION (about ½ – 1 page)In the conclusion, the students address the starting hypothesis in regards to the information that the student has found. This should include how much of the information the hypothesis explains and what it fails to explain. Finally, the student shows whether the hypothesis is correct or partially correct requiring modifications and what those changes are or the student justifies replacing the hypothesis with a different explanation that is more consistent with the data clearly stating what this new theory is. Is traveling to space and having humans live in zero gravity worth all the harm done to their body’s? Yes, I like to think of a quote by Theodore Roosevelt “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means efforts, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life.” I do think it is worth the risk because there is a way to prevent long term effects like muscle mass now. DRAFT PAPER
Astronauts are doing groundbreaking research in space. Sometimes you have to take the risk for the greater good. Into Draft https://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2001/ast02aug_1#:~:text=In%20zero%2DG%2C%20muscles%20atrophy,you%20don’t%20use%20them. Information Gravity is also a signal that tells your body how to act. While in zero-gravity muscles will atrophy quickly because your body perceives it does not need them. While when you think about zero gravity you think about how it will affect the bones and muscle but not your blood pressure. While on earth the gravity will pull your blood to your feet, but in space you no longer have gravity pulling your blood to your feet. While in space your blood pressure will equalize and become about 100 mmHg throughout the body causing your face to puff up and your legs to thin out. With this shift in blood pressure will raise an alarm telling itself it has too much blood. Causing astronauts to lose about 22% of their blood volume in just about two to three days. Returning to earth the aftermath. Blood volume is typically restored within a few days Muscle will come back with a month or so. They say for every day you’re in space is how long it will take for recovery. Bone recovery for a three to six month period say it might take up to two to three years to regain lost bone if it will come back at all Research You can lose around 20 percent of your mass. Your muscle mass can be gone at a rate as high as 5% a week. For bones the loss can be even worse. In space atrophy at a rate of about 1% a month, reaching up to 40 to 60 percent
