The assignment is for the team to write a 3-4 page essay. It needs to be at least three full pages long but no more than four full pages long, not including cover-page, and work-cited page. 1. The Hypothesis should be your initial ideas on the subject before you have researched the topic. Is traveling to space and having humans live in zero gravity worth all the harm done to their body’s? Yes, I like to think of a quote by Theodore Roosevelt “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means efforts, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life.” I do think it is worth the risk because there is a way to prevent long term effects like muscle mass now. Information Gravity is also a signal that tells your body how to act. While in zero-gravity muscles will atrophy quickly because your body perceives it does not need them. While when you think about zero gravity you think about how it will affect the bones and muscle but not your blood pressure. While on earth the gravity will pull your blood to your feet, but in space you no longer have gravity pulling your blood to your feet. While in space your blood pressure will equalize and become about 100 mmHg throughout the body causing your face to puff up and your legs to thin out. With this shift in blood pressure will raise an alarm telling itself it has too much blood. Causing astronauts to lose about 22% of their blood volume in just about two to three days.
