Presentation
Students are
to create a presentation using google slides or PowerPoint. Students are to
write a 2–3-page paper answering prompts, to accompany presentation.
1st
draft of the presentation. This should include your main topic and minimum of 5
fully completed slides.
Students can
use google slides, but to hand in you must download it, and submit as a pdf or
pptx file.
Objective: Focus on 1 topic from class, and
create a PowerPoint presentation of how it changed over time. The time period should roughly cover the
1800s and 1900s, as relevant. The topic should be one of the main topics from
the course, not something that did not get much coverage.
A student
should demonstrate understanding of the topic, based on knowledge from this
course, as well as an understanding of how the topic changed over time. The student can consider in what ways the
topic changed. The student should state or
propose why or how the topic changed.
There should be close attention to time periods based on approximate
decades, not vague large periods such as “the 1900s.”
*If you
choose a women’s history topic it must relate to gender and sexuality. There should not be a women’s general
political history.
Directions:
·
Complete
at least 10 slides, which address the objectives. [Not including a title slide]
Slides should generally be in chronological order.
·
Required class sources: Use at least 3 class readings (Class PowerPoint Lectures
are not class readings), as a major part of your Presentation. You should have quotes from each reading. Use at least 1 Class PowerPoint as part of
your Presentation. (you can use more) Videos can be used if relevant, in
addition to required sources.

Required images: You should have a minimum of 5 original images. These should generally
be historical photos, or pictures of historical objects. Images should be accurate and include a
citation and date. Images should be
explained in a minimum of 2 sentences. Images should be original, and not
copies from class material. See
information below about finding images. (You can include class images, or
screenshots from movies, in addition to your 5 images)

It
is not required for students to record their voices to make a video. Students
can record their voice, for an additional 10 points on the project. However, the
maximum is 100 points.

The
text of your presentation in total should be at least 250words.
·
If
the student would like to use an additional source, you must ask when you hand
in your first draft, and explain why you need this particular source.
Proper
Citation: Provide
links for all images. Provide citations for all required sources. For a reading,
provide the title, author if given and date, and page #. For PowerPoint, provide title and slide
#. For Image provide link, title and
date if provided. For videos, provide
title and timestamp. You should provide your citation within the presentation,
after the sentence in a parenthetical citation.
The use of
AI is prohibited in this paper. Any
plagiarism or copying another student will result in a grade of zero with no
chance for make-up.
A paper should
accompany your Presentation. It is 2-3 pages, double spaced. In this paper
you will answer the following:
