Assessment 1 requires you to carefully consider and respond to a critical reflection and personal analysis of your own professional practice. You are to analyse your knowledge and skills according to the focus areas of the AITSL Professional Standards – Graduate Level using the reflection tool provided on the EDFD462 Canvas Page – this is to include identifying areas in which you need professional development. When you have analysed your areas of your professional practice, you are to write a professional learning plan based on the following criteria supported by pedagogical literature:
Overview (600 words)
An overview of your analysis of your professional practice focusing on main areas of development through professional learning. Each area should be linked to a specific AITSL focus area (write NESA 3 digit code only). You are expected to explain the importance of teacher professional learning, describe the analysis process of your professional practice you undertook to identify at least three areas for development (but you may have more). Each area should be justified by evidence in the form of experiences from your practice leading you to identify the need for professional learning in each area supported by pedagogical literature.
Personal Professional Learning Plan (1400 words)
Select two main areas you have identified for professional learning.
Provide a plan of your personal ongoing professional learning (including the use of SMART Goals) in the two areas to support you in your work to improve student
Your plan should include a sequence of the skills, attributes and a variety of specific and relevant professional strategies/skills you intend to undertake to develop to enhance your capacity in the areas identified as a professional teacher (700 words each) supported by pedagogical literature.
Identify the professional support networks, you will draw on to support your professional development in the two areas and articulate what support you feel they will be able to provide to
Supporting Documentation (Optional)
You may include up to two supporting documents in the form of the appendix to support the content in either your Overview or Personal Professional Learning Plan. As these potentially vary greatly in use and relevance, they are not worth marks but intended to assist understanding.
Format: To be presented in Arial 11 point font, 1 pt line spacing, with page margins of at least 1.5 cm. Must be uploaded to Turnitin via Canvas. Word count to be written at the end of the assessment. Marks may be deducted if these directions are not followed

– Demonstration of a clear link between the stated areas for professional development and the AITSL Professional Standards-Graduate Level
– The appropriateness, relevance and quality of the professional networks chosen to support your professional development
– Quality of the pedagogical literature used throughout the plan
– The level of academic writing, spelling and grammar
The use of APA 7 referencing in the text and reference list
