Task
Pae Ora – healthy futures can only be achieved through collective action towards Whānau Ora – healthy
families, Mauri Ora – healthy lives, and Wai Ora – healthy environments.
Using a report format, utilise Aotearoa New Zealand published scholarly literature, research and
health and social service data, to investigate the holistic health experiences of koeke Kaumātua/ adult
and older adults accessing Primary Health Care Services.
The report will include:
1. Research to outline and discuss the holistic health experiences of Koeke Kaumātua/ Adult and
Older Adults in Aotearoa New Zealand using at least ONE of ethnicity and one of health condition
i. Impact of Ethnicity – (Māori, Asian, Pacific, Migrants etc.)
ii. Long term conditions – (eg. asthma, diabetes, COPD, )
2. Critique the provision of Primary Health Care Services linked to the health experience for your chosen
lens above (impact of ethnicity and long-term conditions). Consider strengths,
gaps and possible solutions.
3. The above critique will include how a Primary Health Care nurse can promote Pae Ora within these
services to support positive health experiences and health outcome for older Māori adults within the
chosen lens above.
