Talk about Nancy Hirschman- patriarchy and how it impacts women’s quality of life. Women don’t achieve a level of freedom that they should have, according to Hirschman. Women lack this freedom in the United States. We should do BLANK to guarantee freedom.

a. The amount of laws that suppress female’s rights (Lack of free choice) (anti-feminist)
i. DV- quality of life for women. -find sources for women. (GDP maybe)
2. Operationalization
a. Look at the female voter participation in different states In the United States
b. Look at how many women are in college
c. Look at how many women are in the workforce and compare their salaries to men

b. US Government accountability office (displays the amount of women in the workforce, their salaries, even jobs that do not have a large female population like STEM), and sexual harassment.
c. Institute for policy research that ranks the states In the US by worst to best to live in for women and why.
i. Minnesota (best) & Alabama (tied for worst w/Mississippi)
Quantitative analysis (was going to do both to mention patriarchy, but now I don’t know)

All students must submit a final paper compiled with edited versions of theory, a literature review, a research design, measurements, and the findings/analysis.

An abstract of no more than 200 words
A work cited list
Final papers will be a holistic assessment of all the sections of your paper plus the final information covered in Chapter 9. Make sure you incorporate edits given to you earlier in the semester.

Make sure you answer these Questions: what does your data SHOW? How does this work in the states you chose? Which states show higher levels? Which states show lower levels? If this is a DV how is it impacted by the Independent variables.
Give a description of the data for income, education, workforce, healthcare, and well-being. What does it look like? What is low income and high income? What is low education and high education? What is the description of the workforce, healthcare, and general wellbeing?
