SUMMARY PAPER CONTENT
A Summary Paper is due no later than the end of Friday-Week Eight.
Prepare a Summary Paper, in essay format, that addresses and includes the following sections, as well as an Introduction and Summary:
SECTION ONE: Philosophy of Life – Describe your own beliefs for each of the topics listed below. Identify and cite at least four key ideas from Web research with which you relate. If appropriate, share part of your moral or faith development (particularly the role of crisis). Feel free to include any additional outside books that have influenced you, but be sure to include them in a Reference page at the end of the paper.
Be sure to compare/contrast your philosophy with at least one other we covered in class. Show your work.
Discuss the following:
a. Nature of humankind
b. Diagnosis of what is wrong with humankind
c. Prescription for putting it right
d. Intellectual difficulties or remaining unresolved issues
SECTION TWO: Personal Values and Mission – Provide a description and analysis of each of the following listed below. Again, relate your insights to at least four ideas from the Covey Text in this module.
Your 3-5 most important personal instrumental and/or terminal values, your predominant value system, and factors which influenced your values or other significant observations.
Select 2 of your roles you can share, and describe the goals for each. What insights did you gain from this activity?
Your personal mission statement or vision for your life.
SECTION THREE: Organizational Values and Business Ethics – Provide a description and analysis for each of the following. Again, relate and cite at least four key ideas from the Ferrell textbook in this module.
Your organization’s workplace values and mission statement. (If these are not published, interpret them from examples of your culture or operational practices.) (Note, you must pick an organization to analyze here. If you cannot or choose not to do the one for which you currently work, pick another that you can get the relevant information on in order to do the analysis)
Your organization’s ethical program – strengths and weaknesses OR the social responsibilities of your organization and your appraisal of how it meets those responsibilities.
The moral philosophy(ies) and ethical principle(s) that characterize how you make ethical decisions. Give specific, detailed examples of circumstances and contexts.
FORMATTING THE SUMMARY PAPER
Must be 8-10 double-spaced pages in length (of content) and formatted according to APA style, as outlined in A Writer’s Reference.
Must include a cover page (not included in page count) that includes the following:
Your name
Module name and number
Name of paper
My name
Date submitted
Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
The body of the paper must include the assigned content listed above including personal reflection and critical analysis in each area.
The paper must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
The final page (not included in page count) must be a Reference List that is completed according to APA style, as outlined in A Writer’s Reference.
