Students
are required to analyze one aspect of a given theologian’s thought on theology
or doctrine of God, such as providence, divine action, or the relation between
divine action and human action, social justice, etc. This paper is to be seven
and ten pages in length, double-spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font. In this paper, the student is to offer a
detailed analysis of the issue pertaining to God and divine action in one specific
piece of primary theological writing. Students are strongly encouraged to study
the primary texts and to consult secondary sources as well. Students are encouraged
to quote the text extensively to demonstrate a relevant mastery before
constructing an argument in favor of one theological view or another on the
doctrine of God. Students must use proper bibliographical form in the footnotes
or endnotes in this paper. Papers will
also be graded according to originality of thought, depth of content/critical
thinking, grammar, and style. All
students are encouraged to go to the Writing Center to review their papers. Here is a list of interesting suggestions:
