April 29, 2024

Students will write a research essay, which makes an argument that is both theoretically and empirically well grounded.
The essay must be written and structured such that it provides an answer to a specific question. This question should be the title of the essay. Students may choose a question from the list above
The essays should engage with the course content. This means that they shouldn’t simply apply structualist IR theories, even where the question would allow this (in some cases, you can critically engage with FPA concepts through IR theories or vice versa; this is fine). If you find yourself writing about ‘Russia’ doing something rather than the Kremlin networks or the Russian public, you are not engaging with the module content.
Students are free to concentrate on a specific issue/case/country. Students may also choose to compare and/or to cut across different issues/cases/actors.
Essays must include both theoretical content and empirical content.
In most cases, essays are designed ‘across weeks’ and the best answers engage a range of material from across the module relevant to the question.
please use in text citation with page numbers, the three sources you find should be academic and peer reviewed. Reliable sources please
research analysis need to be very academic and professional
i am providing a few sources that need to be implemented to the essay as well, please have a read of the articles and find notes related to the questions.

2. Perception and misperception in international politics – by jervis and robert
3. Understanding foreign policy decision making by Mintz, Alex; DeRouen, Karl R.
4. Groupthink: psychological studies of policy decisions and fiascoes by Janis and Irvin Lester
5. Trump, Populism, and American Foreign Policy by Wojczewski, Thorsten
6. The imperial peace: democracy, force and globalization by Barwaki and Tarak
THESE 6 ARTICLES ALSO NEED TO BE ON THE ESSAY, PLEASE HAVE A READ OF EACH OF TIME WHEN PLANNING THE ESSAY.
