Students will have the freedom to choose an outside of class event for this assignment. This event needs to be related to diversity and the follow-up reflection paper submitted via Canvas must follow the DEAL model in describing the event (be specific about date, time and location) and what was learned from the event related to diversity and cultural humility.
I will post events via Canvas announcements as I become aware of them but there are also resources below which may help you find events that interest you. After attending (this may be virtual), you will submit a 3-4 page double-spaced paper describing the event, relating the knowledge gained from the event to what you are currently learning in 287 this semester, and discussing what was learned from it about diversity and cultural humility in social work practice – how will this event inform your social work practice moving forward?
