Students will examine the literature on an organizational behavior topic to demonstrate their understanding of best practices in management and organizational development in a global environment. Students may examine the topic from a universal, global perspective or by examining the topic cross-culturally. For example, a student may explore motivation and empowering employees in multinational corporation teams or compare motivation and empowerment in organizations located in China and Russia.
The purpose of a literature review is to convey to the reader what knowledge and ideas have been explored and published on a topic. The literature review serves as a critical, analytical summary and synthesis of articles and should compare and relate different theories, themes, and findings. The paper is not an exhaustive account of every article published on the topic, but it should provide a comprehensive overview of relevant literature published on the topic.
You will survey scholarly (peer-reviewed) articles relevant to your topic to analyze, describe, and summarize your research. The literature review may be organized thematically, such as different theoretical approaches, methodologies, or specific issues or concepts written on the topic. It should also address the strengths and weaknesses of the research and point out any new ideas, research gaps, or opportunities for further research on the topic.
