Student will select one week of class to present an enhancement to the lecture. The presentation
should be 7 – 10 minutes and should summarize an empirical research article connected to the
topic for the day and written in the last 7 years. The article should focus on a traditionally
underrepresented group such as persons living in poverty, persons living with a disability, ethnic
minority persons, religious persons, or persons residing outside of the United States. The
student should then create a discussion question to spark thought and discussion among their
classmates. Students should create a Power Point presentation to display during the live course.
THE PRESENTATION NEEDS TO BE ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THAT IS THE TOPIC!
The research article may focus on direct victims, witnesses, or offenders. Lastly, please note that
the research article must come from a research journal and not a popular magazine or website.
Points will be deducted if:
● The article is more than 7 years old.
● The article is not from a scholarly peer reviewed journal.
● The student reads the summary or words on PowerPoint verbatim.
● The article does not focus on a cultural group.
● The article is not focused on the appropriate trauma for the day.
● The presenter’s speed or volume make the presentation hard to follow.
● There is no physical aid provided (PowerPoint).
● The student does not appear familiar with the article.
● The student neglects to include a thoughtful discussion question
