Structure of Interdisciplinary Research Essay
Introduction:
Introduce the title and the author of the text that you will analyze. Explain its main theme and its backgrounds like its cultural or historical contexts.
Include your thesis statement that announces how the theme of the text is related to a topic in your academic major and profession, or a current issue of your community, the U.S. or the world.
Body:
Explain a few elements such as plot, characters, dialogue, images, symbols, diction, examples, structure, or music that show the theme that you identify.
Use specific textual detail from the literary work that you analyze and scholarly sources that discuss similar themes of the literary text you are analyzing.
Discuss how the literary text is related to a topic in your academic major or profession, or how it has increased your understanding of a particular issue in our present society.
Whenever you use outside sources, you must include in-text citations.
Conclusion:
Restate the thesis in different words and summarize your analysis.
