finding appropriate and credible sources of ideas and information.
integrating quotes, paraphrases and summaries from sources into one’s own argument.
citing the sources properly in MLA format:
properly constructed in-text citations in MLA format
properly constructed list of works cited in MLA format
In this revision, you are required to improve your research writing, including integration of source material and source documentation through proper in-text citations (parenthetical references in MLA format) and a correctly constructed list of works cited in MLA format. You should also make some other improvements to the writing as needed, focusing especially on errors and other weaknesses identified in the comments on your papers and in the writing report.
Your revision grade will be based on two things: 1. How well it demonstrates the skills targeted by this course (listed above), and how well it addresses weaknesses identified by the professor’s comments on the paper. You must address all of the comments, but you must address other issues not identified by the comments. In this way, you will demonstrate to the professor both the skills listed above and your ability to revise well, both with the help of comments and on your own without such help. See the instructions for the self-evaluation letter for a list of the types of corrections you might make as you revise your paper. In your self-evaluation letter, you will have to write about the changes you made to your paper as you revised, so the instructions include a list of the types of changes you might make, to give you the language to write about them later. But, you can use that list now to give you some ideas about what you might do, beside improving your research writing, to revise your essay.
