Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to allow students to practice pedagogy while introducing basic concepts of Community Health to one’s peers. This activity also provides an opportunity to organize content and to practice formal oral communication skills.

Instructions: Students will have the opportunity to complete a classroom “presentation” online related to one of the textbook course chapters with a power point and a Media Library video presentation. Each student will sign up for a chapter and a week to present during Week 1. The quick link is located in Week 1 of D2L. There is also a PowerPoint example of what is expected to be covered in the Start Here module in D2L.
The “Presenter” will be submitting their PowerPoint with teaching notes and a Media Library recording in the specific Classroom Presentation Discussion board area by assigned Wednesday evening by 2359 (Students will sign-up for a chapter unit presentation in D2L during Week 1 of the course. The chapter unit presentation is due in the corresponding week as an assigned reading). Each student will respond via Discussion board to each presentation member of their assigned group, minimum 75 words. Responses are to be posted by Sunday evening by 2359. Group members can be found under the “Learner Management Tab” when you click on “Groups.”

Objectives of the presentation (minimum of 3 using objectives from the chapter presented) Depending on the chapter, you may choose to focus on certain criteria. Use the references related to your criteria.
