SSESSMENT BRIEFING
The Assessment
Assessment summary: the brief is to read through the feedback on your
first submission of CW 2 and to fix your submission in line with the
feedback.
If you are submitting a deferred case analysis (for the first time) then you
should analyse the case All that Glitters which you can find in the
Refer/Defer section of the Blackboard site.
If you are resubmitting and you have been told that your choice of case was
not a good one, please analyse the case All that Glitters.
The headings in the report are mapped to the Problem Solving Cycle – see
structure of the report (below).
Reference the theories and concepts you quote, to Rees & Porter (2015) Skills of
Management & Leadership book which you can access on-line. You don’t need to
go searching around for different books. Instead concentrate on the case study
and analysing the problems that you identify there, mapping these to the
concepts and theories discussed on the module.
1. Proposed structure of the assessment (headings below are mapped to
the Problem Solving Cycle which you should refer to in your report):

o Introduction –
o Identification of problems & causes [include how these relate to the
theories discussed on the module].
o Identification of objectives and characteristics of appropriate solutions
o Range of possible solutions
o Identification of appropriate solutions
o Conclusions
o References
o Consider putting in headings for each of the above sections, since it is a
report.
