A. ADD An Introduction to the draft paper
Use an example that explains the type of relationship (attention getter)
Explain how long the relationship has been going on and any other brief background on the relationship.
Provide a purpose — “This paper will analyze the relationship between myself and ______.” You can use a pseudonym for the other person, if you wish..
Preview the main points — “The paper will examine things that work well in the relationship, things that could be improved and finally reflect on the relationship as a whole.”

Identify 3 communication concepts that are you believe are used well in this relationship – each one should be from a different chapter — Ch 2-8. When choosing concepts they should be a significant part of the chapter or can come from our discussion. Do NOT break concepts apart. Ask if you are unsure.
For each concept that you identify, paraphrase the definition you find in the text; do NOT copy directly from the text.
Then, for each concept you have identified, describe at least the part of the journal where that concept was used on 2 different occasions. Remember that I am not going back to the journal but reading the paper; pull your examples from the journal and fully incorporate them into the paper.

Write a sentence that restates the main point, like the preview lists them.
Repeat purpose — what has this paper done?
Write a closing that connects back to the example in the beginning that signals to the reader that you are finished (without saying “I am finished.”)
