Before you start, review the intercultural praxis reading assignment and chart. Then, complete the following assignment prompts in a 2-3 page typed paper, formatted using APA style.
Topic and Description:
Paragraph One: introduce what you’re going to talk about in your paper, and how your paper is structured (preview of main points). ~½ page
Part One: What is intercultural praxis? Feel free to cite your textbook and outside readings. Explain in your own words, drawing on the textbook/research as necessary.
Part Two: Describe and analyze one intercultural encounter from your life that involved (or could have benefitted from involving) intercultural praxis. Explain clearly what entry points of intercultural praxis played out in this encounter, or perhaps how you could have engaged intercultural praxis more thoughtfully.
Part Three: Explain the concept of positionality. Reflect on your own positionality and cultural identity. Based on this reflection, describe what social justice issues are important to you personally, and briefly explain why (you’ll likely benefit by pulling from credible sources on the significance of your issue here). How are you positioned to make a difference regarding this issue? Remember, you don’t have to start a revolution to make a difference! You can make a difference in little ways through what you do and say every day. Close/End the paper naturally.
