Situation: “Are You Personally Effective?”
All organizations want their employees to be successful and productive contributors to their jobs. All organizations focus on the following three major areas of personal effectiveness:
(1) cognitive skills: decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and innovation
(2) relating to others: influence, negotiation, communication, listening, and trust building
(3) personal capabilities: adaptability, flexibility, integrity, honesty, resilience, and self-development
Assignment: Do you consider yourself effective in these areas? Identify specific traits or behaviors you possess that support your answer. If you think you lack some of these skills, identify which ones and outline your plan for improvement.
Share in this paper your self-reflection and insights. You might provide examples of how you have used or will use specific information gained from this course; you might highlight one or two (or a dozen) specific points that have changed your perspective about the world of work. You might make a list of what you have realized about yourself.
Format Requirements:
Use Microsoft Word.
Use 12-point Arial font to write a two-page double-spaced paper.
Use 1″ margins top, bottom, left, and right.
Do NOT include a heading except the title, provided below. Canvas provides all additional heading information.
Use “Am I Personally Effective?” as your title.
Indent paragraphs.
Do not include a cover page or a table of contents.
Do not include PowerPoint slides.
Do not import clip art.
The goal is for you to write a meaningful two-page self-reflection. Two pages does not mean one line on Page 2; two pages means filling Page 2 with meaningful reflections and examples.
