For this essay, you will write an analysis of the play listed above using sources to support your points.
This essay should include a thesis statement that gives an interpretation of some aspect of the play, making an assertion about the meaning of that aspect. As with your short story and poetry analysis essays, your thesis may focus on the elements of drama used (e.g. characterization, point of view, symbolism, etc. If you choose to focus on these, do not use more than three elements (You can use as few as one) because you will not be able to develop any of them well if you discuss more than three in an essay this short.
The essay should be well-developed, organized, and grammatically correct.
Remember, also, that plays may be interpreted in different ways, but what is important is that you support your interpretation with logical evidence from the play.
you want to avoid just summarizing the plot in any section (A one to two sentence summary in the intro is allowed, but in the body paragraphs, you should assume your reader has read the work, and you should only bring up an event from the play if you plan to analyze it).
