Seminar Paper: You are required to write an 8 to 10-page academic paper double-s

April 12, 2024

Seminar Paper: You are required to write an 8 to 10-page academic paper double-spaced, in Times New Roman font, focused one or other of the issues of global communication. This paper is the capstone assignment counting for 40 percent of your final grade so please give it the emphasis that it deserves. For this paper, I want you to delve critically into the issue of focus and the country’s response to the issue that it faces to identify how it affects the role of media communicators or the process of communications in general. The papers are to be double spaced, using Times New Roman font. This will be handed in on Wednesday, April 10 by 11:59 p.m. The written paper will be worth 20 percent of your final grade. Please bear in mind that good grammar and the effective and creative application of global issues that we have discussed in class will be important. However, in identifying and researching your topics bear in mind the importance of innovation and finding unique new expressions of the topics already discussed in class.
Bear in mind if you choose to pursue the academic paper, as with all papers in this class, that you are required to:
engage in the appropriate scholarly literature;
use proper citations (APA, MLA, Chicago Style or Bluebook or other recognized citation forms are allowed).
think critically and objectively about the topic that you are researching.
The Paper is due on April 10th and you can turn it in here!!!
Short Guide to writing final paper:
Part I: Introduction: what is the paper about? –must engage the reader and help them understand the big questions you are writing about: Who? What? Where? When? How? and Why?
Part II: Theor(ies) where appropriate: any theory or theories that are appropriate for the topic.
Part III: Literature Review: discuss what has been written on the topic demonstrating the uniqueness of your paper.
Part IV: Facts backgrounding the paper
Part V etc.: What was the outcome/effect of issue?
Part VI: Conclusion: based on literature review and theories. In other words, you need to back up your opinion based on what’s been written.
The paper will include an introduction, a discussion of a theory relevant to the perspective that you intend to work with, a critical review of the literature relevant to the topic, and a discussion of the developments critical to your paper. Finally, you will conclude with some discussion of your perspective. The introduction provides an overview of the situation under research in order to allow your reader to understand what you will be focusing on in your paper. The theory helps to provide an academic understanding of the issue and why it is important. The purpose of the literature review is to place the issue in perspective,  analyze the contribution of recent articles and rationalize your decision to focus on this topic–as indicated it also provides an overview of the situation. The conclusion is where you will discuss the full meaning of the research and recommendations that you may have for resolution. In the conclusion you may also choose to look at potential holes in your research and what future research should do.
