Select one problem from the Chapter 5.3 Exercises 15 through 28. Make sure no one else has already chosen that problem. Once you have selected a problem, even before you start work on it, please post to the discussion board your claim on that problem by posting an empty post with the subject “Exercise ## Already Taken, Method XX”. Make sure to state what approximation method (left-hand endpoint, right-hand endpoint, or midpoint method) you will be using. Students may select the same exercise number when using a different approximation method. Posting your claim before you work the problem will ensure you don’t have an unpleasant surprise later that the problem you wanted to post has already been posted.
Use Maple to solve the problem. Solve the definite integral in each of the following ways but without using the Tutor in Maple. (You may use the tutor to show the plot, but your work must reflect work that would normally be done by hand to reach these first 2 solutions using rectangles): (1) approximately with 3 rectangles – your choice of method, (2) approximately with 10 rectangles – using the same method as your previous approximation, (3) exactly-having Maple evaluate the definite integral, and (4) exactly by geometry. For (1) and (2) include graphs of the curve with the rectangles along with a verbal explanation/description. For (4) include a relevant graph of the function and a verbal explanation of your solution. This section should include your plot of the function shown broken up into whatever geometric shapes you will be using to find the area. If you have multiple shapes, for example, 2 triangles, be sure to indicate which triangle is triangle 1 and which is triangle 2. You can do this by color or by label. Remember to use Maple’s computational features to reach solutions.
Finally, include a summary paragraph comparing and contrasting the methods used and solutions found.
For formatting within the Maple file, please include at the top your name and the problem number you are presenting. At the end of your Maple file, please include a paragraph sharing what you have learned and any difficulties you found (mathematically or with Maple).
Attach this Maple file to your main discussion post (which will be as a response to your empty main post where you claimed your problem).
