Include in the recommendations why it is important to ensure the mechanisms are in place. For your assignment in Module 1, the following outlines key areas to address.
Introduction: Provide the purpose and a brief descriiption of the larger report
Background: Provide a brief overview of the rationale for the report. Discuss the background guiding the importance of specific laws, regulations, standards, and policies for healthcare technology systems which include patient data. Address who will be the key stakeholders.
Review of Evidence and Literature: Brief review of key informatics standards, regulations, and policies pertinent to the proposed implementation or revised electronic health record or AIMs system (select a system relevant to your area of practice or research interest).
Outline of recommendations or decisions: At a minimum, address three areas important to the healthcare technology and the laws or regulations or policies that are recommended to consider based on importance to safe, secure delivery of care and potential for impact on patient outcomes. Provide recommendations on implementation and monitoring for compliance to positively facilitate patient outcomes or the potential for issues if not adequately addressed.
Conclusion: Summarize (briefly) the importance of the report and implications for use of the EHR or AIMS in safety and quality in the healthcare system and support for patient care.
