Scenario
Psychology is the study of the brain and
behavior. In the workplace, conflict
exists due to the different viewpoints that employees have regarding their
upbringing, values, morals, etc. More
awareness of different human behaviors is necessary to help people in the
workplace understand each other and their differences. You are a human resources representative, and
your supervisor puts you in charge of educating your co-workers on the topic of
the root causes and influences resulting in different human behaviors. This includes a better understanding of
psychological disorders. You will
present the material as a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover to all the
current employees. The training will
also be presented to any new employees as part of their onboarding process. The following topics should be covered:
· Identify the root causes and influences resulting in
different human behaviors.
· Explain what a psychological disorder is as well as
the symptoms, effects, and treatments that go along with them.
· Outline how psychological disorders can affect the
individual as well as their co-workers within the workplace.
Directions
For this Portfolio Project,
you will create a PowerPoint presentation with a voiceover highlighting the
root causes and influences of different human behaviors. You will also explain what a psychological
disorder is, including the symptoms, effects, and treatments of two different
disorders. You will include how
psychological disorders can affect the individual as well as their co-workers
within the workplace. You can find directions for creating a PowerPoint with
voiceover under the Student Resources Tab in Blackboard titled, “How do I
create a narration and condense file size in PowerPoint?”
Requirements and Formatting
Your Portfolio Project
must be formatted as follows:

Title slide
·
Reference slide (at least two references with the appropriate
in-text citations)
·
Times New Roman or Arial 28-point font
·
Use the 6×6 rule on slides 2-10 (six bullets
per slide, six words per bullet)
·
Add a picture or graphic to each slide
·
Please
be as creative as you can with the PowerPoint

course. Details for each submission are included below in the Deliverable

Using
the Portfolio Project PowerPoint Template in Blackboard, you will complete
slides 1-5. Refer to the following
websites to get started. Enter only the websites that you use on your
reference slide. The references are already included on the slide. Remove the
ones that you will not use in your presentation. Utilize the search box on each
site to find information. For example
search, schizophrenia and age, or how does schizophrenia affect people
differently?

Oral Presentation
(The total recording
should be 5-7 minutes in length.):
Your voice should be
clear and easy to understand.
You should vary your
tone of voice and use pauses effectively to place emphasis on important points.

additional insight to PowerPoint slides in your own words.
You should not read
verbatim from the slides.
You should avoid
non-words (“Um,” “Uh,” “You Know”) and
practice using professional language.
