• Presenter Requlrement: The vidco should capture your face and body as you deliver the speech to a live audience. During
speech, you must stand and be scen from the knees up.
• Audience Requlrement: In order to meet the college-wide course objectives, every student must prepare and present a mir
three oral presentations using established rhetorical patterns and adapting them to the established needs of an audience o
than six individuals. Your audience must been seen clearly the entire speech. They should not be on the phone, hiding unde
blankets, hoodies or doing other things. Ideally, they are interacting and responding to you. Audience interaction is part of y
delivery grade and the course objectives. There Is an automatic grade of zero for the speech if there are two or less audienc
members visible in the video. There is an automatic grade of zero if audience members are scen at the beginning of the vide
not remain visible during the entire video.,
• lIdeo Quallty: The video should have adequate lighting and sound so viewers can see and hear you. You must control for
distractions during the recording. You may take as many recordings as you choose, and submit the video you want graded. 7
submitted recording may not be edited in any way.
• Extemporancous Mode of Dellvery Requlrement: You will carefully prepare, rehearse, and present your speech from a brief
notes while maintaining a conversational quality. Bricf notes, visual alds, outline may be used while speaking. but alm for no
than 25% of your speaking time referring to your notes. Manuscript delivered speeches (read word-for-word, no eye contac
audience Interaction) will not be graded (zero).
• Specch Video and Outline Submissions: You must submit a working vidco through Connect, along with an outline, and sourd
applicable) through Canvas by the due date. In addition, you will complete a self-cvaluation and engage in peer-evaluations c
student videos (through Canvas Discussion Posting Modules).
• Topic and Outline Submltted: In order for speeches to be graded, speech topics must be posted In the class group discussior
formatted outline submitted. After the post-closing. there are no topic changes without prior instructor discussion. If you sut
wrong file, the assignment will be considcred late. Microsoft Word required for written assignments.
