Reviews must include a brief biographical sketch of the author, a brief summary, and a substantial analysis of its contents.  The analysis is the heart of the review and its major focus should be the interpretations of the people, places, and events provided by the author.  The following questions should be answered in your review.
What appears to be the purpose of the author?
What kind of audience is the author seeking? What is the audience’s intellectual level?
Did you like the order in which Dr. Wilkerson organized the book? Yes/no, explain.
Were you surprised that Germany studied the U.S. laws of discrimination and segregation to establish their own system of discrimination against Jewish people and others? Yes/no. Discuss at least three (3) different examples provided by the author?
Were your surprised that Dr. Wilkerson found many similarities between the Caste system in India and the Caste system in the U.S.? Yes/no. Discuss at least two (2) examples provided by the author.
Discuss how the book affected your understanding of the U.S. Slave System, and the subsequent laws of discrimination and segregation in this country. Provide at least five to six (5-6) specific examples provided by the author.
Would you recommend it to a friend, a family member? Why or why not.
Book review should be four (4) full pages:
½ page a brief biographical sketch of the author: her professional life: her education, how many books she has written, and awards she has received. Do not write any direct quotations, if you do so, I will take points off.
One (1) page summary of the book.
Two (2½) pages your analysis— your opinion, interpretation of the book.
Papers must be double spaced and letter size 12 font. Not 14, I know the difference: Style: Calibri or Times New Roman
